1. What This Policy Is For

This Privacy Policy explains how Wumci (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information during the beta testing phase of the Wumci app and related services (“Beta Services”).

By joining the Beta, you agree to this policy and our limited, purpose-based use of your data — only what’s needed to provide Wumci’s core functionality, test features, and improve performance.

We never sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or unrelated model training.

2. The Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

• Email address (for registration)

• Optional feedback (comments, screenshots, bug reports)

• Optional surveys

B. Information Collected Automatically

• Device/app data (device type, OS version, app version, non-precise region, timestamps)

• Crash logs and performance diagnostics

C. Voice & Text Data

• Your spoken/typed input is processed to generate real-time suggestions

• Processing may occur on-device and/or in the cloud

• We store only a limited lexical subset of your input or context

• We do NOT store raw audio by default

3. Why We Use Your Data

• Core functionality (real-time suggestions)

• Testing, debugging, fixing crashes

• Improving accuracy and performance

• Anonymous usage insights

• Beta communications (updates, feedback requests)

We do not use your data for ads or sell it to any third party.

4. Permissions (What and Why)

Wumci may ask for the following permissions:

• Microphone: speech recognition

• Notifications (optional): reminders or updates

• Camera/Photos (optional): e.g., scanning a QR code

• Network access: secure connection to services

You can adjust permissions anytime in your device settings.

5. Data Storage & Retention

• Audio/transcription used for immediate processing is discarded unless you save it

• Saved lexical subsets & context remain in our encrypted database until deleted

• Feedback/logs are retained only as long as needed

• Account data is stored while you are in the Beta

6. Service Providers & Security

Trusted Service Providers (Processors)

We use secure third-party providers to support Wumci (e.g., hosting, transcription, crash reports).
They may only use your data to provide services to us, not for their own training or advertising.

Security Measures

• HTTPS/TLS for data in transit

• Encryption at rest

• Standard, audited cryptographic methods

International Transfers

Data may be processed in the EU, UK, or US.
When required, we use Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and similar safeguards.

7. Data Sharing

We never sell your data.

We may share information only:

• With authorized processors (under strict contracts)

• With regulators when legally required

• During a business change (e.g., merger), under the same level of protection

8. Your Choices & Controls

You can:

• Delete saved lexical entries

• Delete your account

• Opt out of the Beta

• Disable/enable permissions

• Opt out of non-essential emails

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location (GDPR, CPRA), you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data

• Correct or delete it

• Request a copy (data portability)

• Restrict/withdraw certain processing

• Object to specific uses

11. Children’s Privacy

The Beta is designed for adults (16+).
We do not knowingly collect data from children below this age.

12. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies only to the Beta version of Wumci.
A full production policy will accompany the public release.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as features evolve.
Major changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
